About congress
On October 26, 2022 on the second day of the 10th St. Petersburg International Labour Forum the St. Petersburg Tourism Development Committee with the assistance of JSC "St. Petersburg Medical Tourism Agency" will hold the 1st Congress of Medical and Health Tourism Experts of BRICS and SCO member states.
The Congress venue will become a place for discussing topical issues of industry development and international cooperation in the sphere of medical and health tourism.
In May 2022, Minister of Health M. Murashko initiated the establishment of the BRICS Medical Association. Supporting and sharing this initiative on the margins of the Congress the issue of establishing a medical tourism association of BRICS and SCO countries will be discussed.
In preparation for the event, the issue of integrating WHO representatives into the programme of the Congress is being discussed with ExpoForum, the venue for the SPIGF.
During the Congress experts will also discuss the importance of supporting the development of medical tourism at the governmental level, standards of interaction within medical tourism, marketing and promotion issues, needs of the target audience, the significance of medical and health tourism as one of the key drivers for full recovery of the tourism industry.
The Congress platform will provide a forum for discussing existing challenges and identifying solutions for smooth interaction between all industry players, both nationally and internationally.
